O-Shaberikai
A big arigatou to all those who attended O-Shaberikai this week. It was great to see such animated conversations going on whilst we enjoyed the izakaya style ambience of Coo, thank you!
The next O-shaberikai is scheduled to be held on will be held on Wednesday, 2 June 2010 at Coo Izakaya Civic from 6pm onwards. I look forward to seeing you there.
For those who don’t know, the O-Shaberikai is a very informal monthly get-together where Japanese people staying in Canberra can meet Australians who have some interest in Japan.
Softball
The next softball challenge day will be held on Saturday, 15 May 2010 at Fellows Oval ANU from noon to 4.00pm.
JETAA usually form a combined team with the AJS and CJC.

The next practice will be held on Saturday 8 May from 1-3 pm at Yarralumla Neighbourhood Oval (near where Black and Schlich streets cross). Come along, join the team and have some fun! Spectators and supporters are welcome.
Annual General Meeting
JETAA Canberra will hold its AGM early in June. The date will be advised to all members soon. If you would like to be involved in the committee, it would be great to have you on board.

Chiemi Hori creates world’s biggest onigiri
Former idol singer Chiemi Hori, 43, has created the world’s largest onigiri.
Hori made the giant onigiri by combining 5,555 individual rice balls into a single creation, beating the previous record of 5,040. The new record-holding onigiri is approximately 27 by 2 square meters in size and has been record in the Guinness World Records.
